Dr. Elizabeth Liotta
Dr. Elizabeth Liotta attended medical school at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD, graduating in 1990. Then serving 15 years as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy Medical Corps, Dr. Liotta spent her first five years as a primary care physician in Navy clinics and aboard a ship assigned to the middle east during Operation Desert Storm in 1991. Dr. Liotta was selected by the Navy to attend a Dermatology residency program at the National Naval Medical Center in 1996, and has been practicing Dermatology since 1999.
Dr. Liotta has been chosen by Novartis Pharmaceuticals to be a spokesperson for their dermatological product Elidel, and has volunteered to be a lecturer to dermatology residents in the Washington, DC area. In addition, she is a published author in several publications including the Archives of Dermatology and the Journal of Cutaneous Medicine and Surgery, as well as the Associate Medical Editor for the National Women’s Health Center Book of Women’s Health.
Dr. Liotta is Board certified in Dermatology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Montgomery County Medical Society and the Washington D.C. Dermatology Society.
Our Staff
We are especially interested in making all our patients feel right at home! We put your needs first to achieve efficient and comprehensive treatment. Our staff is trained and skilled, and we strive to provide our patients with friendly and compassionate care. Our clinical team consists of a Certified Physician’s Assistant, a Registered Nurse, a Certified Medical Esthetician and two Certified Medical Assistants. To stay abreast of the very latest in dermatological care, each team member participates in continuing education courses each year.
Jennifer I. Whitman, MPAS, PA-C
Jennifer I. Whitman, MPAS, PA-C is a board certified Physician Assistant licensed in Maryland and Virginia. Jennifer received a B.S. from Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, IN and a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Chatham University in Pittsburg, PA in 1999. Jennifer joined Dr Liotta’s staff this year, bringing with her over 8 years of experience in Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine in both Primary Care and Emergency Care settings. Jennifer works closely with Dr. Liotta to provide the full range of clinical and cosmetic dermatological care to her patients.
Allyssa Corun, Licensed Esthetician & Skin Care Specialist
Allyssa is a graduate of the Yvonne De Vilar Scientific Skin Care. She has over 10 years in the skin care industry, and comes to us with extensive experience in medical aesthetics. Allyssa has worked in spas in both Frederick and Hagerstown. Her recent experience working with a plastic surgery practice in Bethesda has allowed her to develop expertise in post-procedural treatment of the skin, and she has a specialized make-up certificate in this area. She has a thorough knowledge of all of the areas of cosmetic dermatology, including laser treatment, fillers, and Botox. Allyssa’s talents have been written about in the Hagerstown Bridal Magazine, and in 2003 she was asked to provide make-up services on the “Wedding Story” television show on The Learning Channel. In addition to providing a full range of medical esthetic treatments, Allyssa works closely with cosmetic and skin care companies to maintain a thorough expertise in their products and cosmetic lines. Dr. Liotta consults closely and regularly with Allyssa on each one of our cosmetic patients to establish a unique and individualized skin care regimen for each patient based on their distinctive skin care needs and our extensive line of cosmetic products and services.
